Delete your account
You delete your Dead Point account yourself in your profile: in the iPhone and Android app or in the browser. You need access to the account email, because the confirmation code is sent there. A deleted account cannot be restored.
In the app
- Open the Dead Point app and sign in
- Open the user menu and choose "Profile"
- On the "Profile" tab scroll down and press "Delete account"
- Confirm with "Delete" in the dialog: a code is sent to your email
- Enter the code from the email and press "Confirm deletion"
In the browser
- Sign in to Dead Point in your browser
- Open the user menu and choose "Profile"
- On the "Profile" tab scroll down and press "Delete account"
- Confirm with "Delete" in the dialog: a code is sent to your email
- Enter the code from the email and press "Confirm deletion"
If you own a workspace that has members, first remove the members or transfer ownership, otherwise the deletion will not go through.
Step-by-step guide with screenshots in the docs
Removed at once
- The account is anonymized: personal data is removed from the profile
- All sessions end and nobody can sign in to the account
- The app and the browser return to the sign-in screen
Removed after 30 days
- After 30 days the anonymized account and the personal data tied to it are physically erased from the database
- Once the deletion is confirmed, the account cannot be restored
What is kept
- The audit log and payment documents are stored as the law requires
- These records are not linked to you and contain no personal data
